Muscle and functions

Muscles That Act On Anterior Arm:

• Latissimus dorsai (from the back) :
The latissimus dorsi (plural: latissimi dorsi), meaning 'broadest [muscle] of the back' meaning the back, is the larger, flat, dorso-lateral muscle on the trunk, posterior to the arm, and partly covered by the trapezius on its median dorsal region. Latissimi dorsi are commonly known as "lats", especially among bodybuilders

The latissimus dorsi is responsible for tension, adduction, transverse extension also known as horizontal abduction, flexion from an extended position, and (medial) internal rotation  of the shoulder joint. It also has a synergistic role in extension and lateral flexion of the lumbar spine.

• Teres major (from the back) :

The teres major muscle (Latin teres meaning 'rounded') is a muscle of the upper limb and one of seven scapulohumeral muscles.

• Biceps brachii :

The biceps brachii, or simply biceps in common parlance, is, as the name implies, a two-headed  The biceps lies on the upper arm between the shoulder and the elbow. Both heads arise on the scapula and join to form a single muscle belly which is attached to the upper forearm. While the biceps crosses both the shoulder and elbow joints, its main function is at the latter where it flexes the elbow andsupinates the forearm.

• Subscapularis :

The subscapularis is a large triangular muscle which fills the subscapular fossa and inserts into the  tubercle  of the humerus  and the front of the capsule of the shoulder-joint.

• Deltoid (anterior & middle) :

In human anatomy, the deltoid muscle is the muscle forming the rounded contour of the shoulder. Anatomically, it appears to be made up of three distinct sets of fibers though electromyography suggests that it consists of at least seven groups that can be independently coordinated by the central nervous system.
It was previously called the deltoideus and the name is still used by some anatomists. It is called so because it is in the shape of the Greek letter Delta (triangle). It is also known as the common shoulder muscle, particularly in lower animals (e.g., in domestic cats). Deltoid is also further shortened in slang as "delt". The plural forms of all three incarnations are deltoidei, deltoids and delts.

• Coracobrachialis :

The coracobrachialis is the smallest of the three muscles that attach to the coracoid process of the scapula. (The other two muscles arepectoralis minor and biceps brachii.) It is situated at the upper and medial part of the arm.
